Finding the right therapist can oftentimes seem overwhelming. As a Clinical Psychologist, I strive to provide a supportive and accepting environment where clients can feel safe to discuss challenging and sensitive issues. I consider self-discovery and self-acceptance to be an important starting point and fundamental component of therapy. I believe in a strong therapeutic alliance that fosters trust and promotes healing through the use of positive coping skills, managing difficult emotions and enhancing self-confidence.
I completed my doctoral degree at Stony Brook University (Long Island, NY) in 2011 and since then I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including schools and hospitals. I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples and families, and treating issues including anxiety, depression, trauma and general life stressors and transitions. My research on marriage and close relationships also informs my clinical work with couples and families.
My approach to therapy is based in aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness-based techniques, while always tailored to the individual client. I look forward to joining you on this path and working together to help you achieve your goals.
